Feeling energetic?

Mountain biking is very popular here and Moray is well known for its "Monster Trails". The closest to the house is on Ben Aigen and you can cycle directly from Glengower. We are close to The Lecht (35mins) and Cairngorm (1hr) ski resorts which offer great skiing in the winter and stunning scenery for hill walking in the summer.

The River Spey offers some of the best Salmon fishing in the world. It is also very popular for canoeing.

Destinations for the more chilled!

Many of the beaches on the Moray coastline are simply stunning and a wonderful place to take a picnic. Lossiemouth is the closest and has the benefit of being close to the town and its amenities.

The whole Moray area is packed full of history. Why not start with Ballindalloch Castle, Balvenie Castle and Fort George. Elgin Cathedral is picturesque and offers the opportunity to climb its tower and enjoy the views around Elgin. It also has the bonus of being close to Johnston's of Elgin cashmere centre. A great place to shop and stop for coffee or lunch.

Why not explore the Malt Whiksy Trail which takes in many of the famous whisky distilleries. Come and visit from 1-10 May 2009 for the Spirit of Speyside whisky festival.

2009 is a special year in Scotland with many events planned to celebrate 'The Year of Homecoming'.
