Craigellachie
Craigellachie is a small and peaceful, but well supported village in the
heart of Speyside. It has a petrol station with a useful shop, a Post Office, hairdresser, beautician, two famous pubs and
the Craigellachie Hotel. The hotel has an excellent reputation with great food and an amazing whisky bar with almost 700 different
single malts. The Highlander Inn is more informal with an equally brilliant selection of whisky, straight forward pub food
and a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.
We have a wonderful fresh fish van which will stop outside the house
on a Tuesday at 8.10am and on a Thursday at about 8.45/9am. He also sells a small selection of bread, fruit and eggs.
Elgin
Just 12 miles away. There are a number of supermarkets including Tesco and Asda whom both deliver
to Glengower. The M&S food shop is on the High Street along with banks and a variety of other shops. If you are a serious
clothes shopper you my like to make the scenic trip to Aberdeen or Inverness either by car or train.

Aberlour is just two miles away and you should be able to buy everything you
need for the duration of your stay here. There is a good deli (great picnics made), Coop, butcher (excellent meat you can
preorder), cashpoint, newsagent and various cafes and pubs. There is a chemist with pharmacy, banks and a very good fishing
shop. Also home to the famous Walkers shortbread so a visit to the factory shop is a must, as is Aberlour Distillery.
Rothes
There is an excellent bakery called Simpsons on the right just after the bridge over the burn.
Dufftown
Home to DJ Fish and Chip shop, a Coop, nine distilleries, cashpoint and a specialist whisky
shop. Also a french restaurant called La Faisanderie. Dufftown has a very good Tourist Information Centre housed in the clocktower
